CENTER FOR STUDIES OF THE PERSON

We are a face-to-face community committed to maintain, build, and create an environment where each of us can be heard, where we can be fully ourselves, and where we accept and embrace each other as we are.

Carl Rogers Memorial Library

The Carl Rogers memorial library is a public resource featuring works by Carl R. Rogers, his contemporaries, students, critics and colleagues, and people who continue in expansion and at least partial reference to the work that Carl Rogers initiated. Works by individuals affiliated with Center for Studies of the Person (CSP) form an important and unique perspective on Humanistic and Person Centered psychology.

La Jolla Program

For more than half a century The La Jolla Program has been at the world forefront in practicing our versions of interpersonal encounter. We convene together facing one another, using the opportunity to talk and otherwise communicate.

Our aim is to understand and experience our personal relatedness to happenings that concern us. Our conversations develop toward more essential sincerity but certainly do not lack humor. People actually listen, and each hears herself as who she is more deeply and subtly.

Conflict Resolution

As a citizen of the United States and as a PCA practitioner I have a variety of feelings and thoughts in me as I watch the violent protestors attack the process of certifying the Electoral College result of the November 2020 Presidential Election. Fear, anger, sadness, a resolve to engage conflict and understand, while at the same time maintaining my personal integrity and preserving basic democratic processes in my home country are some of things that fill my mind.
