Meditation Encounter of Compassionate Practice

Once a week for over 15 years Pat Howley has facilitated meetings in his home for people who see themselves on a spiritual quest. It began simply with the practice of Shikantaza, (“merely sitting”). We sat in silence with the aim of emptying our mind of thoughts. It is the most difficult thing to do in meditation.  Eventually, we decided to take some time to talk about our experiences.
